Introducing "Selfie," an evocative artwork that delves into the profound shift in self-expression brought about by the digital age. The piece captures the essence of a modern phenomenon—the selfie—and its transformative impact on the way we perceive ourselves and connect with others. With a striking figure adorned in a yellow suit, the scene is a poignant reflection of our era, set against a backdrop of glowing iPhone screens displaying the self-portrait. As the digital realm blurs the line between authenticity and approval-seeking, this thought-provoking piece invites contemplation on the changing nature of identity and the quest for genuine self-discovery.

About the Artist

Brigitte Polemis

Brigitte's work is caught between the disciplines of photography, printing, design and sculpture. Her work is defined by her minimal aesthetics of colour, line and form. Herchoice of Perspex as her media, the use of technologies and her attention to high production values, gives her artwork a very contemporary feel. in addition, the use of the multiple motif and lined backgrounds ads elements of surreal, optical and pop art, that in her work find a new unique expression.

Brigitte Polemis is represented by Mamush Gallery from June 2016.
